I don't know if you can always remove the US and substitute it with an I, It depends on the origin of the work, if it is latin, I think that is correct (it's ages ago that I did any latin)

Us (plural) I (singular) got you there! :-)
There are plenty of Ani in the Government, in fact I rather like that,
'You compete Ani' and they won't know what you mean :-)
