If you do it in an existing thread then people won't mind ( as long as there is a bit of relevance to the thread or you ask politely if you can piggyback ). If you put it in a new thread you are saying. "look at me, give me some attention, I did not get attention when I posted this first, oh and to the guy I just pushed off the bottom of the page...fuck you, I need the attention".
