# How the HELL do you get Tim from that?

And ta.

Short for Timothy

# I'm never going to get it, I don't think.
I'm doing blank female face right now.

Sorry, I was being deliberately obtuse.
I honestly don't know. At a guess it's probably something to do with Timothy being a traditionally Irish name. Celtic were formed as a team of Irish Roman Catholic immigrants to Glasgow.

Sorry it's not interesting

# It's an Irish name?
Ohhh.

Not that I would have got it had I known that.

More a Roman Catholic one, they name their kids after saints. It could be something else, but I think that's likely where it came from.

# i thought
it was to do with a former bishop or summat,
gotta love Chris Brookmyre's take on it all in the glossary of tales etched in blood and hard back pencil

# haha, that is an awesome book
All fun and games until someone loses an eye is also good, but a little bit silly.

# I have read a lot
of Brookmyre including the one you mention above.
He's not bad considering his education. He has a fine mind. He is limited by his upbringing I feel. His characters all appear to be stereotypical Scots and I've been trying to get away from those cunts for 30 years.

# haha, yes some of his characters are a bit predictable
but the characters in the a tale of blood etched in etc. aren't stereotypical scots, that's what paisley's like.

# yeh

my brother's got most of the others so i've read most of them
