
It's better to not bother with plots or attempt human emotions or resolution because invariably all modern literature do them shockingly. It's like someone injecting pathos straight into your eyes.
I only wrote my first draft six months ago and on looking back on it I realised that I had attempted to show the real complications of emotion and ambitions, but it way just embarrassingly awful. Like reading a 15 year old emo's poetry or something.

some of the stuff i was writing would make you sick! i'll stick to "reference" books in future ;)

It was a history book...of the future...which I made up...and essentially just consisted of dates and descriptions of events.
The other one was a beginner's guide to philosophy, psychology and the science of existence; I gave up even sooner on this than the first one.
