nahi got a dell with vista on it and it's ok. just reinstall it as soon as you get it to clear out dell's enormously irritating programs, and their stupid service partition that's about the most useless thing in the world, and then it works fine. except for the audio, which is shit.
edit: plus if you were as silly as me and accepted their default broadcom wireless card you've no truck putting linux on the machine, and even putting xp on is an entertaining task leading to a couple of delightful weekends and then deleting xp
