The only thing I'd suggest is to find a, or multiple, friends who do actually care about each other's mental state personality etc.Not just social status and the accepted ways of having fun.
That said I don't think there's anything bad or wrong with how I've ended up, I've got a much better understanding and empathy for other human beings, despite inherently despising them for their cruelty and hypocrisy.
Pity it makes you feel constantly on edge and conflicted though.
