I'm just reminded of Steve Carrell in The Office when he mistakenly thinks the Diwali

I've not watched the merkin version.

I thought the English one was a bit mediocre so couldn't be bothered with another interpretation.

I think it's great. Really comes into its own after the first series (they stop using the uk scripts and just go their own way)

Although if you didn't like the original, you probably won't like it.
