I annoy said people by replying 'Time is an abstract concept, created by man to explain the cause and effect nature of linear events in an otherwise hostile and unpredictable universe.'
As you can imagine I'm great fun at parties..

If you did it regularly then yeah, it'd get annoying, but if it's just to random folk or irritating colleagues then it's alright.

I don't remember him doing that in his set. Because I actually took that from a really early, must have been late eighties/early ninties Stewart Lee routine.
Although I used my own time description because I have some philosophic credibilty.

But I do also enjoy the comedy stylings of Mr Lee so could possibly have got the two confused.
They are both very clever comics.]
The more I think about it though the more I can hear SL saying it.
Hmmm, I'll have to root out my old dvds.

It's a really old one though, and I've never heard that joke other than in this single video.
Although he only occasionally reuses his old stuff as his jokes tend to be far longer and more elaborate these days.

I have seen him a couple of times recently, once a couple of months ago on the 40th best standup tour, and maybe 2-3 years ago on the stand up comedian tour.
Also I bumped into him in Tesco in Edinburgh, but I'm fairly certain he didn't say it to me then.

I've only seen him in person once and that wasn't standup. It was his short lived fringe play monologue thing 'What would Judas do?'
Although I did email him to which he actually replied personally, it almost made me sad that he is so unknown by the majority that he has enough time to answer emails. Although I doubt he'd want it any other way really.

It was a pic that I did regarding something from tmwrnj, in an episode where Rich said that channel 5 had offered him a job hosting a fishing show
despite him knowing nothing about fish and purely because he has the surname Herring.
So they put together some amusing show ideas for channel 5 one of which was Hugh Fernley-Whittingstalls Huge Furry Wishing Stool.
They both seem like genuinely nice chaps.

Was this emailed to him when TMWRNJ was actually on then? Because I don't think I even had a PC then let alone internet access.
