Others have said it too of coursethat's just where I heard it first. The ruler of the universe is an old man who lives in a shack and talks to his cat, and speculates whether his cat thinks all these important visitors are coming along to sing songs to it. Then speculates whether they *are* singing songs to his cat and he merely believes they're coming to ask him what to do.
