I would not say that the Jewish people were Egyptians, beyond that they were living in Egypt at the time. Negroid used to be called Egyptian or Egyptoids or somesuch - Jews are clearly Caucasian.

Well, you are wrong.Non Jews might call Jewish people Jews, but Jews do not.
There is a Judaic faith, but there is also a Judaic people and they DO have enough discernable physical characteristics to clearly be defined as an ethnic group.
I defy you to deny that you couldn't recognise David Baddiel or Ben Elton as being a jew because they demonstrate some of the characteristic Jewish traits. I am not suggesting that all Jews fit into this stereotype, any more than all Italians have a large nose or all Irish women have red hair and green eyes, these are just traits which one associates with the stereotype of the ethnic group, but there IS a Jewish sub-race, it is not just a religion.
Many of the Jewish peoples are of the Jewish religion and many of the Jewish Religion are Jewish people, but the overlap does not mean that one cannot be a member of one without the other.

I can't take your word for it just because you are eloquent.the racial traits you talk of are simply those of North African and Middle Eastern Caucasoids.
There is no historical, anthropological or most importantly, archaeological evidence for the jewish as a people. ( the same can be said for Isreal but that's a whole other story I'll not get into here )

I think that, with the internet at your fingertips, you should be able to discover the difference.That said, I am not referring to racial characteristics, but merely ethnic ones. To be a people one does not need to be a race. Yes Jews are clearly semitic, but their appearance is NOT the same, as an ethnic group, as that of say the Palestinian Arab, even though he too is Semitic.
