It (Metal Gear Solid, anyway) had very few of the best game elements:Very little twitch.
Very little beauty.
Very little feeling of exploration.
No real surprises (aside from the ouch you're dead variety).
Too many games are just movies you're made to press buttons to watch.
Crappy movies at that.

I just thought it was pretty railroadedand i HATED the control system.
Also i like more action, not that i don't like to think, just that i also like to kill, a lot.
