
... it doesn't really matter what it is as long as it's nice, it's not factory produced and full of chemicals, and it's served properly, in a pint or half pint glass with a nip of something which goes well... the important thing is the choice of whisky to go with it - if you're having a porter you need something strong like an Ardged, if it's a summer ale you want something more delicate like an Dalwhinney

have fun with it, experiment with combinations; when you find something which works, try and remember it for the future and after years of careful drinking you'll find you have a few nicely honed "sets" which you'll be able to pull out to suit the occasion.

yes - you could be a normal idiot and get wrecked on Wife Beater like a moron and not really get any pleasure out of it OR you could develop the palette of a connoisseur, know what you're drinking and love it; constructing a fine and enjoyable night of drinking is just as complicated and worthwhile an endeavour as putting together a fine meal or a night of entertainment. It deserves attention and if you put in a little effort you will be rewarded ten fold.
