SCA = The Society for Creative Anachronisms.Bascially it's a world-wide group of folk who get together and enjoy the middle ages as best they can from a modern perspective. There's a scholarly side for many folk who enjoy doing crafts using only tools available in various periods and there's the better known dress-up-and-hit-people-with-sticks side. There's also a lot of feasting, drinking, dancing and courting which can be an awful lot of fun.
