He addedin the final chapter where one of Alex meets one of his droogs in the pub and finds out he's happily married.

I didn't know that.I always took the epilogue as an attempt by Burgess to suggest that crime is 'just a phase' and given the chance criminals will 'grow out of it' without the need for drastic re-programming in jail. Might have to dig out my copy and give it a re-read again me-thinks.
