It's Youtube that does the compression though.I made my one and only video for there and it was in lovely hi definition until I uploaded it to youtube and they raped it with over compression and made it a shitty looking thing full of artifacts.

yeah, they compress like mad and if you have crap source material to start with once it goes through a few conversionsit all turns to poop
