my bookcase is my sister's old one, one of the little Ikea ones that folds away when it's not in use. she had two of these plus a 6ft tall one, not enough space for her books, so she had one alcove in her bedroom converted into a fitted, double deep, bookcase. and still had a pile of books about the height of her (two stacks) unread that didn't fit. so now she's got a 6ft book case as well as the built in.

when i moved into my new placei got almost £4,000, so i left my old furniture behind and bought all new stuff. 2x6ft bookcases and 1x3ft.
