yeah the resident can be annoyingas it asks you to confirm every change to the registry as it happens but it learns if you tell it to remember the action so bothers you less in future. Plus if you are installing and spybot wants a confirmation you know it's your actions that have caused spybot to ask for confirmation.
If you are simply browsing and it comes up then you know something is trying to change your registry and therefore hijack you or install a back door.

other than winding me up with it's constant questionsi think i stopped using it to cut down on stuff running in the background,which is another handy thing you can do with spybot, my machine's clockwork and a bit on the slow side. i agree with you again though that if you can run it DO IT, it saves a lot of mucking about in the long run.
