The problem is that the software makers are all now including programs that recognise banknotes which stops you scanning them or working altering them.
Best solution is to take photos of the notes at different angles rather than head on.

someone posted it on here, but there's a barely perceptible (to the naked eye) pattern of dots on all modern UK banknotes (easier to see on the Merkin notes) which is based around either the northern or southern cross constellation.

scanners are pre-programmed to recognise this pattern and stop scanning.

i think there should be an option to print a massive "VOID" watermark across the note as it is scanned, thus not impeding work like yours, but stopping outright fraud
