...my table is made of a soft squidy surface covering a solid wood base
its waterproof and if you leave something heavy on it it marks the table for years! its great as its non slip etc etc but its an awful grey colour, its from the 1940's! (i think i can't be bothered to poke my head under it to read the date!)

back in ye olden days they put dates on everything...
my chairs are from 1946 they are uncomfortable but good for people you don't want in your house for long :)
