But on my 40th birthday, I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. This is normally an age-related thing not seen in people under 60 (lucky me, I'm always the most sprightly looking person in the specialist's waiting room), and within the past year, I've gone from having an irritating black spot in my area of focussed vision to being unable to read, or see ANYTHING out of that eye, apart from having peripheral vision.
So, I'm half deaf, half blind, and keep telling myself things can't really get worse. But I'm scared that they will and I'll end up blind in both eyes, which frightens me greatly.
So if you see any spots in your vision, for facks' sake, get thee to a Dr for a checkup.
:( finished now, going away to be sad.
