Victory At Sea - my dad went into the USN in 1939, was at Pearl Harbor and was right in the thick of it all the way to the end. He gave the series a big OK.

and having un-bombed manufacturing sites for ships, tanks and all the rest, plus lots of oil... could have been a lot worse if Japan or Germany could have made effective strikes on the US.
