My gran was utterly claustrophobic from WWII
She heard a doodlebug cut out, legged it into the underground, and when they came out they were climbing over rubble and bodies. She couldn't even get in a lift after that - car journeys were a chore.

s'funny how all the old dears and duffers that went through all that are freezing themselves to death now and nobody's bothered :(
