Actually I see a use for it.
Some rigid plugs won't plug in if the wall point it close to the scirting board. That would solve that problem. So fail:P

Somebody pointed this out last time I seem to remember ;)
It's handy for when you've got big fuck-off adapters that are too wide for the existing socket.
