I dunno about that.I think that she is/was just ignorant. It isn't an excuse, but she should never have been a pariah. A laughing stock, maybe. Or even an object lesson.
And when you scratch the surface of many Britons, especially the last generation, the racism is still there. Maybe that explains her media draw.
