# Typical non-comic fan review.
The comic used a lot of framing / scene change devices that were lifted directly from cinema, which were unused in comics previously - in some ways making his point moot.
In many ways I felt like the comic was sourced from a movie, and not the other way around.

# Well you can call Wossy a lot of things,
but not a non-comic fan. He is a huge Ditko and Moore fan and has an amazing comic book collection.

# He and Tarrantino ( who's arse he is really up )
are two of the most famous comic book fans I know, as well as their love for Japanorama and anime, I doubt you could get any more 'comic book fan'.

# Aye.
Did you ever see his program "In search of Ditko"?

I thought it was brilliant :)

# It rings a bell
but I'm addled right now. I expect I've seen it.

Makes him look all the more silly for making that comment in his review then. :)

# Ha ha ha!
I don't know. It is all well and good saying that the styling was ripped from cinema, but that doesn't mean that it will work put straight into a film.

# true
It isn`t perfect cinema to be sure - but it works a helluva lot better than either 300 or sin city, due largely to the way that cinematic devices were used in the comic.
Made it seem more like it was ripped directly from the pages without interpretation - but it works, and, for the most part, keeps the fan boys happy. :)

# That's why I believe the motion comics
worked particularly well ( and I've seen a couple that really don't, ).

# I saw these on play the other day.
What are they?

# it's the comic.
redrawn so that the parts are individually able to be animated ( more moved to give depth of field and an experience of animation ) with a narrative and score. The narrative fails because it's read by one person and it just sounds ridiculous when he reads the female parts.

It's hard to explain but I enjoyed them on the whole as a lazy way to catch up on comics I'd not read for some time.
