
Because the object is a lot longer than it is wide, whatever program you are using is mostly likely just mapping the textures on the assumption is roughly square shaped. Really noticible on the purple and pink ones.
You can fiddle about with the UV mapping coordinates so it maps the texture roughly evenly.
