# Worst excuse for a wig ever
TJ: What bloody software do I need to be ripped off by Adobe to give me back something that resembles Image Ready for handling gifs?

Like CS4, I might as well pay for a legit copy once in my lifetime

# if you've paid for CS$ surely there's no gui;lt in torrenting imageready?

# I know what your saying mate
but I just checked my bank balance, and wouldn't mind 'getting legal' with software whilst I can

# I use Photoshop 7 . . . if that's any concern . . .

# Still a bit pricy on amazon

Christ, Adobe are cunts

# what appears to be your issue?
Just get photoshop CS3 extended which should be a knockdown price now. But be careful where you buy.

FYI I have CS4 and CS3 and I don't like the new one. It will take me some time to get used to but it does make use of good gpus and your gpu ram, which I have a lot of.

# Photoshop handles gifs
like imageready used to since CS version.

They just built it in and did away with the extra bloat.

# except you can't import gifs or video like you used to
(, Sat 28 Mar 2009, 22:30, archived)
# do you mean you can't
or I can't? Because I'm looking at the option to import video to layer frames right now.

The gif thing is correct of course but that's a marketing issue. Since they took over Macromedia and pushed fireworks as the replacement for imageready than you are meant to have fireworks and use that. It's no big deal though, you can download many free gif editors that will export to layers for photoshop.
