but what happens when you have a marginally sized willy?for example when in warm weather it will dress to either side, but on cold mornings has shrivelled up to be only suitable for centre dressing?

It doesn't change the definition, it still is smallIt's just on cold days, one is just too cold to be thinking about being a conformist or a rebel.
