just want to add my support for this sort of thing.
I know some police are bastards - I've witnessed it myself - and they've not been wearing thier numbers displayed for some time now, especially at protests.
But - who do you call when your house gets burgled or your car gets nicked? Eh?

The police, admittedly
But that's only because my insurance company needs a crime reference number to pay out. If they didn't, of course I wouldn't bother.

Fat Tony
At least then, you have a better chance of getting your stuff back.
Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for the dear Rozzers (well except Nottinghamshire constabulary - but thats a different story). But they don't seem to care about burglaries, or any other incident that doesn't a) involve physical harm to a person, or b) make money through speeding fines
