# ipchicken shows your 'real' internet address....
basically (in most cases) that will be the IP address that the WAN port of your firewall/router device was given by the DSL or CableModem.

In order to check if that is secure, you can go to https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 .

that is the modern equivalent of winipcfg

now it just displays my router settings... great

its windows xp that doesn't know what its doing!
98 and ME used to have winipcfg.exe which displayed the IP that the internet used to see
ipconfig.exe does not have this function
This has been discussed above and has now been resolved
