Now this complicates the issue.
I'm not much of a fan of pineapple in sweet and sour sauces, but it is delicious on pizzas.

But pineapple is the ultimate sweet and sour delicacy!
Ripened just right it is both sweet and sour itself, so makes a perfect addition so such a sauce as each tiny bite is like tasting the essence of sweet and sour heaven.

Unfortunately, they normally end up with sweet pineapple with not enough sour.
Making the whole thing rather too sweet and sickly.
