The drugs policy (as laid out in section 1 of the Misuse of Drugs act) should be informed by scientific opinion, not those of the dour Presbyterian PM. Nutt was just doing his job, and got sacked for going 'off-message'. It's a fucking disgrace.

Anyone remember the research done at Strathclyde Uni that showed some people could use heroin and hold down jobs? Condemmed as "irresponsible" in favour of the "if you take drugs you will lose everything" message. Grr.
