I think being influenced by JJ is fine in general
But unlikely to get a great reception here, you know?
What I'd suggest is to find another artist somewhere and copy their style and drawings, thereby working on your technique in different areas. When you feel more confident you'll be able to draw in your own style which might take things from numerous sources and put it together as your own.
Its a long term project but it would be worth it.

Although people are free to post whatever they want on here, it gets pretty tiresome having posts with people just plain showing off (sorry JJ, your skills are mighty but I crave the b3ta lolz).

Bit harsh. I have no knowledge of the lad except that
He posts amusing pictures. He occasionally sticks around the follow up with a few posts and then legs it back to work.
He doesn't stick around to have a chat like the rest of us, but I don't see how that qualifies him as an arse.
