Japan is very much like that.I loved the old temple on the hillside in Nagasaki. That sentence alone tells you everything you need to know about how they think about a location and spiritual sense of continuity of existence, rather than the actual materials being important.

Roffles.Yes, China seem to be realising that a cultural revolution turned out pretty bad for 21st Century Tourism. Now they're building lots of cheap imitation tourist attractions.
