Then half the remaining distance, then half that remaining distance, and so on, and never actually reach anywhere.

# ah, the usual cited example or hypothetical situation (well, the one I've heard many times before), is an archer firing an arrow at a target
the arrow is slowing in flight, so after every second, it covers 50% of the distance remaining to the target... Or something like that...
