He was obnoxious to the point of being legendary on the roads above Monaco and Nice.
I'd have clients, retired old duffers mostly, coming to the bike shop and talking to my boss about how some crazy American and his friend in a car had harassed them of a road because he did not want any fans watching him train and asking him for autographs yadada...
Little did he know that quite a few of these old duffer were in fact ex racers that had rubbed shoulders with all the greats from the 1950's and 60's and who did not give a shit about Armestrongue and HuSese-postale.
