Election expenses exposed
Information on Channel 4's investigation into the expenses scandal, worth a read for those interested (and you should be). A blatant breach of the rules and therefore the law.

This good investigative journalism is hugely undermined by its blatant political bias.
For some reason C4 is only going after Tories. Of course they should be done if they've done wrong. But why are they not reporting on the Labour, Lib Dem and SNP MPs who have been doing exactly the same thing? Why are they not reporting the fact that some Labour MPs and one Lib Dem MP are being investigated by the police for misdeclared election expenses? Why do you think no politician from any party is making much of a fuss about this? They are ALL at it. But C4 news' agenda means it's just the evil Tories.

Survival
It's probably a good way to try to avoid privatisation.
If enough Tories are found to have broken law, by-elections take place, the government falls and privatisation avoided. If the government remains, CH4 privatised, and you can kiss good-bye any kind of investigative journalism.
