And a very good one, according t Wikipedia. Then he went off the rails a bit.

I got the distinct impression he was
setting up theories as Immutable Laws then finding an exception, which is then used to allow the woo in.
Also Lewis Carroll quote about Laws was silly.
I guess it sells well to conspiracy/rebel/kidult audience who want to be different.
