Jeremy Clarkson has had £500 nabbed after he published his bank details in his Times column.

bank details to prove the same thing.
Can't remember who it was but it was during a long drawn out (yawn..) debate on banking and secrecy laws.

This is why I love Clarkson. Some people think he's a twat - and, to be fair, they're probably right. He does something completely stupid to prove a point. I suppose I see him as a real life Alan Partridge (wasn't Partridge partly based on him?...) in that I find im hilarious, but it's always funny when he makes an arse of himself.
Edit: This is brilliant:
Clarkson now says of the case: "Contrary to what I said at the time, we must go after the idiots who lost the discs and stick cocktail sticks in their eyes until they beg for mercy."

Yes, Partridge was indeed partly based on him.
And this whole story sounds remarkably Partridge :D

I was pretty sure he was. Their mannerisms are quite similar - the scenario does seem a bit Partridgy too, especially with him changing his mind afterwards.
And on that bombshell, goodbye.
