I don't agree with this. If a big wig in the Oxford University Labour Party was on record calling all Muslims "Mohammedanists" (an offensive term apparently) he'd almost certainly be kicked out of the party, probably the university and get his collar felt. If he had called all Poles "Polacks" or all travellers "gippos" he'd have been in big trouble too. Go round calling all Jews "Zios"? It is an offensive term, and very much intended to be so.
