But politicians are experts in everything by virtue of the fact they win an election. We should certainly defer to them on Brexit, amongst other things.
The leaders of the EU have such levels of expertise they don't need to waste their time with elections.

I advocate going back to the system of local representation by iron age kings who we sacrifice on a big rock should the harvest fail.
