But a tea shop owner chased her a fair way along the path with two pieces of wood saying such things as "you want blood?" because of a disagreement over a price. Clearly a loon.

I can sympathise with the Nepelese lady
As I've just spent the morning dealing with a man living in a £2m house who is too tight to pay a very reasonable bill for fixing his computer.
But I've also refused to pay a price that I knew was ripping me off, and think it's important to do so to in many situations even when it would be easier just to roll over. To do otherwise is to allow dishonest people to profit from your own weakness.
