No I don't think he's really trolling.
He does seem genuinely in earnest about his rather unpalatable beliefs. I'm entertained by the way he's permanently beyond parody... any time you think you have a handle on how best to take the piss, he manages to come up with an even more ingenious way to be a bell end, and everyone loses their minds.
