According to the independent they usually get 80 days recess a year, note no holidays or sick pay.
So 365-80 to get 285 'working' days, round that up to 41 7 day weeks, deduct another 82 days for weekends so that's them down to 203 days.
According to a survey in 2010, they work 69 hour weeks so that would be 13.8hrs a day. 13.8*203 gives us 2801.4 hrs but we round that down as we're not paying for that .4 as its not even half an hour.
2801*7.83=21, 931.83 less tax of 20% on the 9431.83 above the 12500 threshold, so 21931.83 - 1886.37 = 20045.46
Divide by 12, so 1670.45 per month after tax
But wait, I forgot national insurance contributions so that's another 1595.98 off your take home pay to take you down to about 18,451.28 a year or 1537.60 a month.
Does that help?
