I have to say, as great as Logic is, it's not the easiest thing just to get onto and throw ideas down with.
I used to use Garageband when I just started out and, for all its faults and lack of versatility, there's no better DAW for just chucking ideas about and getting stuff out of your head.

It's made worse by the fact that I don't have a midi keyboard so it's painful note-painting for me...
