Most people still understand the scene wrong. At 0:23 you can see the white Ford Ranger that passed him, stopping the courier vehicle in front to rob the cargo of cell phones. The drivers jump out and run away swiftly. So the pickup's work was to hit the courier. The Audi's work was to hit the armed escort (Prinsloo). Instead of getting frightened and stopping, Prinsloo drives directly at the robbers getting out of the Ford. They are kept busy, so cannot shoot the courier drivers, but rather open fire on him. So he saved other lives as well. Behind the camera they then jump back in the Ford, probably already trying to abandon the robbery. Prinsloo hits them in passing and goes for the Audi on the other side of the road just after this video cuts.
On the other dashcam videos it appears he then makes a U-turn to assist the stopped courier, but the the robbers also stop and return. He then makes another U-turn and pursue the vehicles when they shoot at him again, the robbers still being on foot. Eventually he is chasing the Audi, hitting it from behind and over a bollard, himself getting stuck as well. All robbers seem to flee at that moment when he gets out with gun in hand. According to news pictures the Audi was abandoned on scene and all robbers got on to the Ford Ranger and fled, thanking their ancestors they did not get killed...!
