I haven’t seen the Howard Hawks version.
But the Brian De Palma version is one of the most overrated piles of shite ever.

I mean, I'm no Mark Kermode.
So I wouldn't expect everyone to to agree with me.
I wouldn't call the BDP Scarface overrated as such, it's just one of those films that gets absolutely idolised by Council Estate wankers and Fuentes wannabes.
My biggest gripe with it was the casting of Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, but that's a personal thing based upon the fact that she looks a bit like an alien wearing an overly tight human suit, and it gives me the heebies. Cracking soundtrack, though.
