Brown, J. (2021). An Investigation into the Physical Capabilities of the Capybara for Breakdancing Purposes. Journal of Animal Behaviour, 56(3), 150-155. doi: 10.1145/987654

Abstract:

The capybara, known for its gregarious and social nature, has gained popularity as a domesticated pet in recent years. With its large size and heavy build, some have speculated that the capybara may have the physical ability to engage in breakdancing. In this study, we investigated the physical capabilities of the capybara for the purpose of breakdancing. We performed a series of experiments to test the capybara's balance, coordination, and agility. Results indicated that the capybara was unable to perform even the most basic breakdancing moves due to its heavy build and lack of flexibility. Our findings suggest that it is unlikely that capybaras will become the next breakdancing sensation and that owners should not expect their pet capybaras to engage in this activity.
