
but the hardest part of getting better is asking for help, and you’ve done that bit! Yay! Go you! etc
Meds might work for you, they might not. Personally I found them useful to get me the space/capacity to find a therapist, and that talking to a professional was what really helped me.
My GP said two things that stuck with me:
“Treatments are like trying on jeans. Some of them fit, some of them don’t, but you can always try a different pair”
“Therapy is like going through your pockets, working out what’s rubbish you can throw away, what’s a credit card receipt you need to deal with, and what’s a treasured item you need to hang on to”
