While watching the Ghent Wevelgem, a big cycle race in Flanders, one of the captions pointing out the multitude of war graves made a reference to "Jacky the baboon". So I googled it. Quite the story. And he didn't have bone-spurs.

Interesting, not heard that one
Delville wood was one of those great war mincing machines like moquet farm or douaumont, 400 shells landing on them every minute. a lot to put a monkey through.
